In a television interview, a man confessed to killing his parents and burying them in their backyard in upstate New York eight years ago.
“It was so quick,” Lorenz Kraus, 53, told CBS affiliate WRGB-TV, who he had contacted after police say they recovered two bodies from the home. He said in the interview his parents “knew they were going downhill,” adding that his “concern for their misery was paramount.” Kraus was arrested moments after leaving the studio and has pleaded not guilty to the murder and concealment of a human corpse charges.
The recovery of the bodies was part of an investigation that found Kraus’ parents, Franz and Theresia Kraus, had still been receiving Social Security payments despite not having been seen or heard from in years.
